July 1, 1993, guest instructor Sensei Shigeru Takashina launched
the opening of Miami Shotokan Karate Club. Since then, this small
group of founding members under the instruction of Jose Ferrand
has grown into a large family of dedicated students with a mutual
love for the martial art of karate.
As
a direct affiliate of the world renowned Japan Karate Association
our school maintains a very high standard of disciplined training.
Not only do we offer numerous daily classes, our members, also,
have the privilege of participating in various special training
camps and tournaments held throughout the year both regionally
and nationally.
Resulting
from this quality instruction and hard training on the part of
our students is an unrivaled camaraderie and spirit that is quickly
evident to anyone that may visit our dojo. Karate for us is not
simply a form of self-defense…..
it is a way of life.
